An options trader must first decide which side of the trade to take, buying options or writing them. This requires analyzing the very different risks, profit potentials, capital requirements, and profit probabilities of each side.
The buyer agrees to pay the finance company $3,000 plus interest over, say, three years. The finance company then sends to the refinance company this sales contract and is lent by that company perhaps $2,700, a part of the money the smaller company advanced for the purchase.

No short-term trading system is perfect, but having and using a system is critical for trading success. A successful short-term trading system must be profitable, consistent, personal, and must conform to the unique psychological and methodological needs of the individual. It must be guided by an overriding and all-encompassing trading strategy that takes into account the trader’s normal day, inconclusive and often conflicting market information, debilitating emotions, and ambiguous technical indicators.
Investing in overseas markets can be tempting, especially if the exchange rate works well in your favor. The peseta had just been devalued. We had 50 percent more buying power. But if we had deposited $3.00 in a Spanish bank prior to the devaluation, we would have received a deposit credit for 120 pesetas, whereas if we wanted to bring our money home after the devaluation our 120 pesetas would buy only $2.00.
When considering where to invest a small sum, one largely overlooked avenue is the consumer finance company. Two major types of finance companies are consumer finance companies and sales finance companies. The former for the most part make small loans for short-term notes and the latter finance retail sales made on the installment plan, such as automobile and refrigerator time sales. Both of these constitute what is known as consignment notes.
